Nuria Garcia Masip empezó su interés por el arte islámico en Marruecos donde aprendió el estilo maghrebí con el maestro Hamidi Bel’Aid. Al afianzarse su pasión por la caligrafía continuó sus estudios en Estados Unidos con el maestro Mohamed Zakariya, y más tarde en Estambul, Turquia, con los grandes maestros Hasan Çelebi y Davut Bektas. En el 2007, recibió su diploma caligráfico (ijazah) en los estilos thuluth y naskh. Nuria, vive, actualmente en París donde enseña y trabaja en su obra caligráfica. Ha ganado prestigiosos premios internacionales y participa activamente en exposiciones, conferencias y paneles internacionales.

Bahman Panahi es un calígrafo y músico iraní. Procedente de una familia de artistas, siguió su formación según el sistema tradicional tanto en caligrafía como en música. Estudió con los grandes maestros calígrafos Amirkhani, Foradi y Kaboli, y con los grandes músicos Zarif, Lotfi y Zahed-Shirazi. Obtuvo el título de maestro del Instituto Iraní de Caligrafía en 1986, se graduó en la facultad de Bellas Artes de Teherán y más tarde en l’Ecole des Beaux Arts de Valenciennes, Francia. Su tesis doctoral, realizada en la Universidad de la Sorbona sobre el tema “La musicalidad de las líneas y los puntos” examina la relación entre la música y la caligrafía. Actualmente, vive en Paris donde reparte su tiempo profesional entre la docencia, talleres, conferencias, exposiciones, y conciertos por el mundo entero.

Bahman Panahi is an Iranian calligrapher and musician. From a family of artists, he was educated according to the traditional system, in calligraphy as well as in music. He studied with the great calligraphy masters Amirkhani, Foradi and Kaboli, and the great musicians Zarif, Lotfi and Zahed-Shirazi. He obtained the title of master at the Iranian Institute of Calligraphy in 1986 and graduated from the Fine Arts University of Tehran and the Ecole des Beaux Arts of Valenciennes, France. His PhD thesis, done at the Sorbonne University, about “The musicality of lines and dots” examines the relation between music and calligraphy. Now he lives in Paris, where he splits his time between teaching, workshops, conferences, exhibitions and concerts all over the world.
