Owen Gildersleeve is a multi-award winning artist based in London specialising in handcrafted illustration, set design and art direction.

Owen’s work often plays with light and shadow, combining hand-cut layers of paper with graphical forms and hand-rendered typography. His creations range from small-scale intricate paper illustrations that he shoots at his studio in East London, to large-scale sets and installations, for which he often collaborates with other creatives to help bring his ideas into being.

Owen’s playful handcrafted creations have won him numerous awards, including accolades from the Type Directors Club, Communication Arts, the Association of Illustrators, Graphis, The Society of News Design and the Art Directors Club of New York. Owen has also produced work for an array of international clients and has exhibited across the world, including Bangkok, London, Los Angeles, New York and Tokyo. His latest solo show ‘Observations from the Unknown’ will open on July 19th at the Argonaut Gallery in San Francisco.
