Bartholot is a visual creative exploring possible appearances and identities.
His imagery celebrates artificialty and the unexplained. His approach to photography is sculptural and graphic with a focus on colour and texture. Bartholot was born in 1971 in Southern Germany. He studied history of art and digital media design before working for a publisher in Switzerland. He then moved to Madrid joining photographer Álvaro Villarrubia’s team, where he got infected with digital photography. Since 2009 he is running his own studio in Berlin developing and implementing visual concepts at the interface between art and design. Bartholot is also part of design studio Serial Cut.
