Marc Catalá graduated in graphic design in 1999 in Eina, Escola de Disseny i Art (Barcelona, Spain). After a period of four years working in Grafi and Pentagram, he founded Mucho with Pablo Juncadella in 2003. They started working on the creative direction of the British newspaper The Observer, combining this with corporate identity projects, editorial design and packaging.
In 2006 they permanently moved to Barcelona, where they work on national and international projects. Since 2008 they also teach at the Eina school, where they are in charge of the graphic design branch final project, as well as teaching several workshops and giving conferences.
In September 2010, Tilman Solé joined the studio.
Their eclectic view and interest in experimentation has lead them to work with small clients (Xocoa, Demano, Demasié, Boolab) and multinational companies (Carolina Herrera, BMW, Random House Mondadori, Hachette Filipacci, W Hotels, Philip Morris), as well as collaborating in cultural projects (Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía, Monumenta o Redesearte Paz) and doing projects in cities such as Berlin, London, Barcelona, Paris, Milan, Mexico D.F. o Madrid.
In recognition of their work, Mucho has received several prizes in the design world. They have won the D&AD’s Yellow Pencil, 12 trophies Laus, 2 Gran Laus, 3 silver of the Art Directors Club in Europe, 1 silver prize y 1 bronze prize from the Art Directors Club Mentions (New York) and best editorial supplement of the year from the Magazine Design Awards.Their work has appeared in several publications such as El País, Elle Decoration, Wallpaper Magazine, Studio Culture, El Mundo, Editorial Made in Spain, Étapes Graphiques and Monocle.
