Bartholot is a visual artist creating ephemeral sculptures captured on digital photography. He started off as a graphic designer and ended up running a one-man photography studio in Berlin.
Bartholot’s work are carefully crafted compositions. They are minimalistic and stylized, focusing on aesthetics, textures, colours and appearances. They can be absurd, surreal, playful, disturbing and humorous.
Barely touching, suggesting and surprising Bartholot hovers on the surface of his subjects. Turning them into statues he preserves and protects their authenticity. They are there but not there at the same time, present and absent, absently present.
